I just watched Red Hot Chili Pepper's music video for Monarchy of Roses, an amazingly creative video and the best I've seen in a long while, and it mentioned it was inspired by the art of Ray Pettibon.

Naturally, I Googled him and found his site with all of his works of art on. They are thought provoking and ambiguous, which makes them even better to look at as you make your own meanings for them.
